Betsy Ketudat is a graduate of Fredonia State University with a degree in Violin Performance.
She is a member of Dashing Rock Celtic Ensemble, where she plays fiddle, nyckelharpa, and flute. She was a member of Fellswater Celtic ensemble where she played fiddle, Hardanger fiddle, fife, and nyckelharpa for over 14 years. She was featured violin soloist at the Yshalle Tattoo in Basel, Switzerland, and has performed in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, with Fellswater, and with the Fiddlers of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
She has also performed in the Royal Halifax International Tattoo, and at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. She appears four Fellswater albums. Betsy has played in chamber groups throughout the Boston area and is also active in the fife and drum community.
She is currently a member of The Music of Prescott’s Battalion, and was a member of Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums (MCV) for over 15 years, performing in numerous international tours, concerts, and Military Tattoos as well as with the Boston Pops Orchestra.
Betsy is an active fiddle player in the Boston area and enjoys working as an artist and teacher. In 2026 Betsy placed first in both the Grandfather Mountain and Ohio Highland Games fiddle competitions, and second in the U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Competition.
Sarah MacConduibh has been playing fife, whistle and flute for decades, and is one of the USA’s premier fifers. She was a fifer with the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums (MCV) for nearly 40 years, with eight full-length recordings, numerous international performance tours including the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, as well as collaborations, recordings and performances with the Boston Camerata and Boston Pops Orchestra. Sarah was a founding member and is currently Manager and performer with Fellswater, a very active and energetic New England Celtic ensemble. Sarah plays whistle, Irish flute, fife and accordion – a new adventure – with Dashing Rock. In addition to playing music, Sarah teaches leadership to enable women in the workplace, and volunteers as a cat foster and veterinary assistant with the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).
Dave Cabral is a versatile multi-instrumentalist whose musical life spans Celtic and traditional music, chamber music, orchestral performance, and historical music. He is a founding member of Dashing Rock, a Celtic music ensemble in which he sings and performs on guitar, fiddle, percussion, Scottish smallpipes, and harp.
Dave studied viola performance at the Boston Conservatory of Music, developing a classical foundation that continues to inform his work across a remarkably broad range of musical traditions. His particular love of chamber music led him to co-found the Essex Piano Trio, in which he performs as cellist. He was also the cellist and harpist with Fellswater Boston’s Celtic music ensemble.
Dave’s interest in traditional and historical music has taken him well beyond the concert hall. As a fifer, he is currently a member of The Music of Prescott’s Battalion and was for many years a member of the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes & Drums (MCV), performing on international tours, in concerts and military tattoos, and with the Boston Pops Orchestra. He has also performed with The Boston Camerata and traveled to Scotland to perform on fiddle with the Shetland ensemble Hjaltibonhoga at the world-renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
As a classical musician, Dave has appeared as a featured soloist with several New England orchestras, including the Melrose Symphony Orchestra, Salem Philharmonic Orchestra, and Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra, in addition to his extensive chamber, orchestral, and pit work.
At the heart of Dave’s musical work is a fascination with the way music carries history, tells stories, and connects people across generations and cultures. That philosophy is especially central to his work with Dashing Rock, where traditional songs and tunes become a way of exploring the people, places, journeys, and stories behind the music. Whether singing a centuries-old ballad, accompanying a fiddle tune on guitar, playing the Scottish smallpipes, celtic harp or bringing the sound of an eighteenth-century fife to life, Dave approaches music as both performer and storyteller.
Away from the stage, Dave is Chief Echocardiographer in Pediatric Cardiology at Boston Medical Center, where he specializes in congenital cardiac ultrasound..
